Amisha Patel and her beau Kanav Puri have been in splits ever since an e-mail has been in circulation since last week alleging Kanav’s ‘gay’ preferences. The couple feels some- one is deliberately trying to create mischief by doing so. The e-mail sent by one Natasha Rodrigues reads, “Recently, I came across this article about actress Amisha Patel’s London-based businessman boyfriend Kanav Puri on the internet.

This is an article which was printed on the internet in July, 2004 before he and Amisha fell hopelessly in love.This is the true picture of Kanav who is a gay or may be now is a bisexual since he met Amisha and is now seeing her.

I knew that. Even I was seeing Vikram at some point. Kanav and I have always been honest in our relationships, including our past ones and don’t see any reason to hide them.”

Actor M.N Nambiar Dies !!!

One of the oldest actors from the pre-war era, M.N Nambiar( Manjeri Narayanan Nambiar), died today (November 19) afternoon at his residence in Chennai, he was 89.

He is one of the best known ‘Villain’ in Tamil films, mainly playing the villain in MGR films. He has done over 1000 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.

He has been in the film industry for more than 50 years. He has worked with 7 generations of actors.

M.N Nambiar was probabally the first villain actor in Tamil cinema to get claps, when he appeared on the screen.

Veteran Actor Nambiar is no more. The star passed away on Wednesday - 19th November in chennai after suffering from longtime ailment. He was 89. He is survived by his wife, son and senior BJP leader Sukumaran Nambiar, and a daughter.

Manjeri Narayan Nambiar, made his name in Tamil cinema with a career spanning six decades, with more than 1,000 films to his name. His famous films include Aayirathil Oruvan, Ambikapathi, Missiyamma, Nenjam Marappathillai, Thooral Ninu Pochu , Thigambara Samiyar, Sarvadhikari, Manthrikumari, Enga Veetu Pillai and Arasilankumari.

M.N. Nambiar was an ardent devotee of Sabari Mala Sri Ayyappan. He had a long association with the temple, and had visited the shrine for more than 65 years, which earned him the title Maha Guruswamy.

Mallika Sherawat hosted Charity Event at Beverly Hills

Mallika Sherawat who can hardly be seen at any event in Mumbai, surprisingly, hosted a charity event for the Amritraj’s Foundation at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday, October 18. Sonu Nigam also participated and donated his services at the program that was organized for poor children and women who are forced into prostitution. At the program former US president HW Bush and Bill Clinton were also honored.

Katrina Kaif sleeping beauty ???

She’s been on a roll of late but a nearly exhausted Katrina Kaif tells Shubha Shetty Saha that she still hasn’t found time for rest. Good films, great money has been driving stars from one set to another — often in different countries.

The flip side of success is definitely overwork. Some time ago Kareena Kapoor had confessed to After Hours that she’s been left with absolutely no time for her personal life, and now it’s Katrina Kaif’s turn to signal a time out. “I have been working really hard. You know how it is, when your film is just about to release (Yuvvraj).

Apart from shooting you also get busy with the publicity bit,” she says, ruing the fact that sleeping for a decent eight hour has become an elusive luxury. “I really need a good night’s rest,” sighed Katrina kaif talking to us late in the night. “But no regrets really. Right now, work is fabulous. I think as a young girl, it’s alright to work as hard as possible. What time I get for myself is more than enough. This kind of work comes to you perhaps once in your life and it is best to take advantage of it,” she says sagely.

But that said, Katrina kaif also admits that the recent hits she has delivered have also burdened her with so many expectations. “I can feel the pressure sometimes. But I tell myself that I cannot let these things affect me. I just need to be really happy because God has been exceptionally kind to me and I have had such wonderful people to work with.”

However, she knows that the films releasing in 2009 will present a totally different side to her. “I have been more or less doing the same kind of roles till now. But next year I will be seen in films by Rajkumar Santoshi and Prakash Jha besides a Yashraj film (working title New York).“Jha’s film has a very realistic role for me and it will be a refreshing change from what I have already done.

I don’t want to stagnate, but at the same time I know that my commercial roles have worked for me. My glam roles have gone down very well with people and I will continue doing them. I absolutely loved dancing in films like Singgh is King and I am not going to give up those kind of roles up for anything,” she says.

Katrina Kaif refuses to work with Salman’s jaani dushman Viveik!

Salman’s ladylove Katrina Kaif is packed with new releases and much to everyone’s surprise, she has readily agreed to work with Salman’s friend turned foe Shah Rukh Khan. But, she does have some exceptions. The long-legged beauty had recently sternly refused to work with Sallu’s jaani dushman Viveik Oberoi.

Well, so what’s weird is the ‘fact’ that the reason of all the hullabaloo, chaos is none other than Sallu’s ex-flame, the Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. So it seems, Katrina kaif did really seek permission prior to nodding a ‘yes’ for the SRK project.

And, this is what Kats had to say in an interview to a news daily, “See, whatever happened was between the two of them. I wasn’t involved. Both have come out in the open and spoken about it to the media. But at the end of the day, they’re senior professionals from the film industry and they have been around much longer than I have.”So why the cold shoulder to Viveik?

“There’s only one person whom Salman has made his displeasure very clear about for which he has a very valid reason. I think he is very uncomfortable with his friends being around Viveik. Everyone knows about it because Salman has spoken about it.”That explains why Viveik chose to follow the SRK camp.

Katrina is all set for the release of her much-awaited musical venture ‘Yuvvraaj’ opposite beau Salman. “The role is a wonderful one of a cello player. I was told to play the cello in the film like I was dancing. I moved my fingers the way I would use my feet to dance and it worked. The scenes came out great. Anyway I had a great teacher to show me how to play the instrument.”

The lovers chemistry seems to be actually working out well for movie, “It’s great to be paired opposite someone who you know and who has been close to you. This film is a little more special to me in the sense that it is looking very good. It has a good story and it is a film which I think is going to be on celluloid forever. It has the makings of a romantic classic.”Well, can’t really predict the fate of the movie, but looks like Viveik is soon to vanish from the big screen!

Sushmita Sen to play powerful lady politician Benazir Bhutto

The guesses for the lead role in the movie on the Pakistan’s powerful lady politician Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated last year, has been abuzz for quite sometime now. Now, we have it that Sushmita Sen has finally bagged this role of her lifetime. The actress is also brushing up her Urdu for the role.

The movie, a biopic of the slain leader, will be a joint venture by Vox Vision and Sum Films and will be shot in Pakistan and England.

Sushmita was busy for quite some time with the making of ‘Rani Laxmi Bai’ and judging reality show ‘Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena’. She had done extensive research for ‘Rani Laxmi Bai’. She had learnt the martial arts and was ready to direct the film herself. Now, with Sush getting such a big opportunity the fate of her so-called dream project seems uncertain.

Mudassar Aziz madly in love with Sushmita

We still don’t know whether Sushmita Sen will get her dulha in the film Dulha Mil Gaya but she definitely has got her real life groom in the director of the film Mudassar Aziz. The industry people are whispering about their marriage also. At the same time, Mudassar thinks that Sushmita is the only source of his inspiration. But this is not the end.

He says that whenever Sushmita will be in need, he will be with her. Still, the things are not working well. Why? Well, the groom declines any chance of development in their personal relationship that may lead them to marriage. According to him, it’s simply gimmick. Writer turned director Mudassar is directing Sushmita in Dulha Mil Gaya but in Sushmita’s home production Jhansi Ki Rani Lakshmibai, he is just helping out the writing department.

“It’s not only for writing or direction for Lakshmibai,” he replies, “but also for any case in life, Mudassar will always be with Sushmita.”

Wow!! That’s really called playing the role of a man. It clearly shows how Mudassar is in love with Sushmita. But still, the other side of the issue is not clear. Shilpa Shetty is roaming around with a bandage on her wrist these days as a result of a torn ligament. “I think it’s because of wear and tear due to weight training or it can also be because of the cartwheels that I was practicing for the film.

My doctor has asked me to go easy for at least three months so I can’t shoot for the film,” said the actress, about her most ambitious project, a multi-star action film. All this has not dampened her spirits; she is now reading more scripts so that she can start working on a film for her home production.

“It will be a script which is less complicated, less painful and not a multi-starrer,” said Shilpa, who now thinks that for a first time producer, a multi-star film is not a very good idea. “I couldn’t get dates from all the actors. It’s quite a difficult task. I kept my other projects on hold because of this film.

I realized that I had turned more of a producer and less of an actress, so now I’m going to turn that around and complete the films I’ve signed with other banners,’ said Shetty, who will get back to her multi-star film later on, the script of which has been written by Mushtaq Sheikh.

“It’s good that the film is on hold as it’s a mega budget film and due to recession and the global melt down, the financiers want us to cut down on the costs which is not possible,” said Shilpa who despite her injury was in the gym when she was interviewed by BT . “Arrey yaar, I’m just cycling,” remarked the actress! Gauri Khan hospitalised due to food poisoning

Gauri Khan was spotted attending Farah Khan’s Triumph lingerie fashion show on Friday night at the Tulip Centaur Hotel in Juhu. But yesterday afternoon she was admitted to hospital following a stomach infection.

Says a source close to Shahrukh, “Though Gauri was fine till Farah’s show on Friday night, on Sunday afternoon she started vomitting and feeling sick. Apparently, she had eaten something the night before which didn’t suit her resulting in a bout of severe food poisoning. She was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra yesterday late afternoon. The doctors are saying it was something she ate but it could also be a gastro-intestinal infection.”

The source adds that Shahrukh was shooting for his next film Rab De Bana Di Jodi but the moment he heard the news of Gauri’s illness, he cancelled the shooting and rushed home to take her to the hospital. The source adds, “Shahrukh stayed by Gauri’s side till the doctors said her condition was improving. She will be discharged in a day or so.” Both SRK and Gauri remained unavailable for comment.
