Shah Rukh Khan - " This Is Reality "

“This is Reality” - SRK on Slumdog Millionaire Poverty

Critics have been raised against Slumdog Millionaire in India. Some say use of the word Slumdog has insulted the people living in slums.

Shahrukh Khan, who has returned from Los Angeles after Karan Johar’s “My name is Khan” movie shoot, defended ‘Slumdog’ .

Shah Rukh Khan has said that the poverty highlighted in the movie is a “reality”.

Isn’t that (poverty and slums) a reality ? If you (critics) have a problem with the word slumdog, why don’t you look positively and see that there is a word millionaire or ‘crorepati’ also.

The success of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ worldwide is an incentive to all Indian filmmakers. Oscars and Golden Globe awards are a symbol of international

recognition.

Shah Rukh Khan take Care of Priyanka

If she declares from rooftops that she is Shah Rukh Khan’s biggest fan then it with reason. The man just floors his ladies, without trying to be be charming.

What he did for Priyanka Chopra in Billu Barbar would certify as pure magnanimity and generosity, both as a considerate co-star and producer.

Shah Rukh decided to give away a large portion of his duet in Billu Barbar to Priyanka.

Says the film’s excited music composer Pritam Chakraborty, “Shah Rukh took very close interest in each one of the songs. He isn’t a musician. But he has an instinctive ear for music. It takes him just a few seconds to approve or cut down a track.”

With the songs meant for Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Pritam faced no problems. “Shah Rukh loved his songs with Kareena Marjana and Deepika Love mera hit hit. They were straightforward dance songs with shared grooves between Shah Rukh and Kareena/Deepika.”

The Priyanka song needed special treatment. And Shah Rukh made Pritam re-work and re-record the song.

Divulges Pritam, “Shah Rukh’s song with Priyanka Khuda-ae-kher is not an item song. It’s a love ballad that the pair playing Bollywood superstars, emote to in front of the camera.

Being a love song Shah Rukh felt there wasn’t enough of the female presemce in the vocals. He made me re-record the song with more for the female vocalist (Dominique) to do since he wanted Priyanka to have an equal number of lines.”

Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta who play a rustic couple will later be seen enacting the same Shah Rukh-Priyanka ballad exactly the way the village couple had seen the stars do the song.

From sharing Akshay Kumar on screen in Andaaz to sharing the same love song, the Priyanka-Lara Dutta rivalry sure has come a long way.

Laughs Pritam, “It was entirely Shah Rukh’s idea to give Priyanka more lines in the song. He’s a very generous entertainer. If you see him on screen he never tries to steal the limelight from his heroines. Even Khai ke paan banaras wala had a lot of Priyanka in Don although it was entirely Shah Rukh’s song.”

When told about Shah Rukh’s gesture, Priyanka stays silent for a while. She then sighs and says, “What do I say? Now do you know why he’s my favourite?”

Bipasha - Shahrukh is a breathtaking super star

My work is my life: Bipasha

“Too much was made out of the whole thing (when Bips left the schedule in Srinagar earlier). Lamhaa is a difficult film. There was bound to be ups and downs. The producer and director knew why I left. A certain amount of security was promised. The first seven days were absolute chaos – nothing was organised and there was a lack of security,” she said.

“Yes, my work is my life. But then, I’ve a life beyond work. I’m not going to risk my life unnecessarily for any film. Who comes to hold your hand when you’re in pain? Let’s be optimistic,” she added.

She said, “This time, hopefully, we’ll shoot without any trouble. Let’s be sensible about it. Lamhaa is a sensible film and it would be difficult for audiences to follow (the language and behaviour of the local Kashmiri girls, which she’d planned to learn earlier). At the end of the day, we’re making a commercial film.”

“I love working with Rahul Dholakia (the director of Lamhaa ). He’s fun and funny. We’ve a strange equation. He looked at me at the start and asked if I am a method actor. I liked that. It showed the director had enough respect in me to first find out what kind of an actress I am,” she added.

Shahrukh is a breathtaking super star: Bipasha

Shahrukh Khan is marvelous star in Bollywood Film Industry and very fond of women. Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma consider themselves lucky to work with Shahrukh Khan in their first film. Now Shahrukh Khan is getting appreciation form none other than Bollywood hot actress Bipasha Basu.

Bipasha Basu said, “SRK is truly a King Khan and eminent figure in Bollywood Film Industry. His way of working and sense of humor is commendable. He is a very supportive co star. Words are not sufficient to describe his qualities.”

Talking about her cameo role in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, Bipasha Basu , “I am very fortunate that I got the opportunity to work with Shahrukh Khan. The cameo was like Mumtaz meets Sadhana. One day of shooting with Shahrukh Khan will be memorable for me and this was my chance to dance. I really enjoyed this role and nothing else matters for me. I had seen him on screen. He is truly a nice person.”

Freida Pinto on Angelina Jolie-Fan List

Freida Pinto on Angelina Jolie-Fan List

But apparently the 24-year-old actress was so stunned to see Jolie at a luncheon in Los Angeles recently that she quickly escaped into the buffet instead of greeting the star.

However next moment she realised that Jolie was approaching her and poor Pinto had to greet her between the mouthful of pastry, the Contactmusic reported.

“Talk about bad timing; I stuffed my face with a pastry and Angelina comes walking up to me and says, ‘Good job’,” Pinto said.

The actress admitted that she did not have the nerve to speak to Jolie when she first spotted her and was so engrossed with the food that she failed to notice that Jolie was making her way towards her and was left red-faced.

Pinto finally got the chance to speak to Jolie properly just before the Golden Globes.

Kareena Kapoor backs out from ‘Five Divas’

Kareena Kapoor has taken a new resolution it seems. The actress has decided to cut down her on-stage performances at award functions and also she will no longer perform at private parties.

In keeping with this resolution, Kareena backed out from the final performance at Screen Film Awards on Wednesday night where she was to perform with other actresses like Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.

The act, titled ‘Five Divas’, is to be the highlight of the evening. But now it is being re-titled ‘Four Divas’ because Kareena has backed out even though the TV promos of the act are being aired.

Though Bebo has not given an official explanation for her decision, yet this act of hers is being seen as her snub to actresses like Bipasha, Katrina and Deepika.
