Shah Rukh Khan undergoes surgery

Shah Rukh Khan undergoes surgery, can’t work for a month

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan underwent surgery at a city hospital on Monday and doctors said the film star would not be able to work for at least a month.

Shah Rukh Khan, arguably India's biggest superstar, was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital after suffering a rotator cuff tear in his left shoulder.

"He is out of anaesthesia and is a bit groggy, but otherwise the situation is under control," Sanjay Desai, who led a team of doctors operating on Shah Rukh Khan, told reporters after a 90-minute surgery.

Desai said the 43-year-old actor would be out of action for "four to six weeks" but full recovery would take up to six months.

"Action will take time, but simple jobs, he can perform in a month's time. No high demand physical activity," Desai said.

Khan, whose film "Billu" opened in cinemas last week, is yet to complete work on director Karan Johar's project "My Name is Khan".

But trade analysts said Shah Rukh Khan's surgery was unlikely to delay the film, about a Muslim man suffering from Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism.

"The shooting of the film wasn't scheduled for some time now and I don't think any of the remaining scenes involve any heavy duty action," trade analyst Taran Adarsh said.

Shah Rukh Khan’s shoulder surgery successful

The Bollywood superstar who was experiencing severe pain for last several weeks underwent shoulder surgery Monday evening. He had delayed the surgery several times before finally undergoing the operation today.

Shah Rukh Khan is the most saleable actor in the business today. Crazy fans or canny distributor. His name is the guarantee. He hedges his bets by working only with best banners and top heroines. But the flip side is that he's also willing to take risk for friends

Shah rukh Khan was born on 2nd november 1965. He was brought up in Delhi. He had done his schooling from 'St. Columba's school' and from 'Jamia Millia Islamia' he had done Mass Communication.

Shah Rukh Khan is being called 'King Khan' and 'Badshah of Bollywood'. his films are like ISI mark. He has reached to the position of choice where his films flops or hits their release is an awaited affair. Things which makes him apart from other actors are his average looks, fast speech, soulful eyes, dimples on checks, thick lips and most imp is his saying 'I'm the best'. Shah Rukh Khan feels acting is making unbelievable believable.

Asin Unplugged

If all had gone well Asin would have moved into her own home in Mumbai

by now.”But I’ve been traveling non-stop. I had no time time to look around and find a place. But now we’re finalizing a place in Bandra. Hopefully by new year I’ll lock in to the place. And we’ll move in. Right now we feel a little unsettled. In Mumbai you desperately need your own home.”

Asin’s parents have moved from Chennai to Mumbai with her. “Both of them gave up their jobs to be with me. Mom is a doctor. She has taken voluntary retirement. She manages my home now. And Dad had seven
business enterprises. He gave them up to look after my career. Right now I’m quite a handful and worth more than all his business ventures.”

And she bursts into peals of laughter.

Asin is a fun-loving extremely atypical South Indian who chatters non-stop, if allowed.

She admits she was asked to keep quiet. “The marketing team felt better that I keep my distance from the press until the film’s release. However that didn’t stop wildly-speculative writeups about me. I read things about myself that I didn’t know.”

Like feeling insecure about her co-star Jiah Khan? “Is that really me?

I’ve worked in South Indian films with female co-stars and never felt insecure. I worked with Nayantara in the Tamil Ghajini without my conflict. Why would I feel threatened by Jiah? Was this a publicity strategy? It was being implied that I was somehow responsible for keeping Jiah out of the publicity. I don’t know how one heroine can influence a huge marketing strategy.”

Asin To Act with Shah Rukh Khan

She made a dream Bollywood debut with superstar Aamir Khan in Ghajini, which became one of the highest grossing Hindi films ever. Now Asin's ultimate desire, of working with Shah Rukh Khan, the ultimate Khan according to her, is coming true.

Yash Raj Films is planning a film with SRK and Asin in the lead. Ecstatic after hearing of the development, Asin feels working with King Khan could be the highlight of her career.

Asin had expressed her desire to work with Shah Rukh Khan while she was promoting Ghajini. Seems like her wishes could come true very soon.

Asin is working with another super Khan, Salman Khan, in Vipul Amrutal Shah's London Dreams. Meanwhile, director Nikhil Advani has also expressed an interest in casting Asin along with Akshay Kumar for an upcoming flick called Patiala Dreams.

Shilpa Shetty criticises Slumdog Millionaire

Now, Shilpa Shetty has started talking like Big B, Priyadarshan and Mahesh Bhatt. She’s become the latest from Bollywood to criticise the internationally acclaimed Slumdog Millionaire.

The actress-anchor-reality TV star said that the film portrayed India and Mumbai in a grim way. Shilpa said, “Obviously it’s about the slums. I just feel that internationally recognised films focus more on our slums and poverty. So I just wrote on my blog two days ago that for a change I’m doing a film that focuses on the beauty of India and its culture. That’ll be interesting to watch as well.”

Well, sometime ago Preity Zinta too had said something similar. Looks like smart businesswomen have a lot in common. So IPL is not the only common thing that these two actresses both share.

Shilpa Shetty on the Set of 'The Desire' With Jaya Prada

Shilpa Shetty has sacrificed a lot for 'The Desire.' She was reportedly going bald for this movie, which ended up being a makeup job she had to do for the film. Even now she's undergoing training to learn the dance style of Odissi. To be more specific Shilpa Shetty is learning the tribhangi form of Odissi where the body gets twisted into three parts.

Her instructor for this is Ratikant Mohapatra, who just happens to be the son of Odissi dancer Kelucharan Mohapatra. Mohapatra is actually impressed by how Shilpa Shetty is absorbing the art. 'My working experience with Shilpa Shetty was very good. As an actress and a bharatnatyam dancer she was able to understand the style and form of Odissi and its execution.' If this wasn't enough Shilpa Shetty is also learning Chinese from her co-star, Chinese superstar Xia Yu.

But a lot of that is old news, to make up for that here is some new news in the form of set pics from 'The Desire.' For those that don't know 'The Desire' is about the life of aspiring Odissi Dancer Goutami (Shilpa Shetty). Goutami desires to make an impression in the dance form, and coincidentally runs into an expert in Odissi. This woman she runs into has an adoring fan base, but she doesn't let that get to her head. This woman tells Goutami to concentrate on the techniques of the Odissi art form.

Eventually Goutami meets Jai Leang (Xia Yu) who also wishes to be a skilled if not also acclaimed painter. There's more to this, but it wouldn't be fair to spoil the movie Shilpa Shetty is working so hard on. Also on board for 'The Desire' is Jaya Prada as Goutami's mother, who just happens to be making a comeback to that silver screen after being busy with political and social commitments.

If the cast wasn't good enough they also decided to go all out with the music. After stunning the world with his score in 'Slumdog Millionaire' A.R. Rahman is signed to score 'The Desire.' Tell us what you think of the pictures by dropping us a comment.

Preity Zinta - Unwanted visitors at birthday party

Apart from Bollywood bigwigs, including Shahrukh Khan, Farah Khan, Chunky Pandey and others at her birthday bash at her flat in Quantum Park building in Bandra on Saturday, Preity Zinta also had some unwanted visitors in the party.

It was the Mumbai police patrol team who had to after slum-dwellers in the neighbourhood complained of loud music early Sunday morning. The police ordered them to turn down the volume of the loudspeakers and said that the actress will be penalised as per the provisions for flouting noise pollution rules.

A local resident, Irfan Shaikh, said that very loud music was played in the party which started late Saturday and continued till the early hours Sunday.

“Whenever there is music or programmes in the slum areas, these people in big buildings complain against us and we have to shell out large fines. We also get disturbed and so we complained to the police,” he told media persons here Sunday morning.

Well, this was an irresponsible act from Preity Zinta who has always shown her social responsibility and did so yet again on her birthday when she adopted orphaned girls from Mother Miracle School in Hrishikesh. As their guardian, Preity Zinta will take care of finances for their basic needs like food, clothing and education.

Un-sensational Preity Zinta

The police dropping in uninvited at Preity Zinta’s birthday bash thanks to a complaint by a much disturbed fellow resident seems to have upset the pretty girl. The TV coverage that followed later further infuriated the actress so much so that she decided to come up with a statement soon after. “I had a party and the police came and put the music off plus fined me which I paid right away. I have the receipt for the same.

The loud music did not resume as mentioned on some sensational channels,” clarified Preity Zinta. “Things like I broke the law and no action was taken against me plus a rich versus poor story on TV channels was just terrible. There should be a law against sensational and false news being passed off on news channels.

I am a law abiding citizen so please check your facts before putting it on TV”, retorted an irked Preity Zinta. This Birthday Girl is surely not amused by all the Party Poopers, but at the same tile admits her blooper! Super!

Preity Zinta and Her 34 Children

Dimpled Bollywood cutie Preity Zinta celebrated her 34th birthday this past Saturday and she celebrated by adopting 34 kids!Preity Zinta adopted 34 orphaned girls from the Mother Miracle School in Hrishikesh. While she may not be taking the girls home to live with her, as their guardian she will take care of their finances for basic needs for things like food, clothing and education. Now that’s definitely something she should be very proud of! Preity Zinta says she plans to adopt more girls every year. Now that’s a cause we can get behind. What a great way to celebrate your birthday!

She also made her thoughts on her home city of Mumbai well known. It seems after watching ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ Miss Zinta realized the state of the city and wants to clean up the slums that plague the city. We agree Preity Zinta, that’s a noble cause!
